Project Description

Beaver Constructors, Inc. served as the General Contractor for additions and renovations to the existing facility totaling more than 5.2 million dollars over a two-and-a-half-year period. Renovations to the existing dormitories included both interior and exterior work. Interior work included new paint and vinyl wall coverings, ceramic tile and carpet flooring. All wood trim was refinished and additional millwork and trim features were added. Bathroom accessories and new solid surface countertops were installed in each room. Exterior renovations included new insulation, air and moisture barriers, wood blocking, fiber cement siding and trim. A new membrane roof system, aluminum store fronts, and exterior sliding doors and windows were replaced.

Three new building additions included a two-story, 20 room dormitory, a game room, mechanical room, and public restrooms and included all site work, site utilities, cast-in-place foundations, floor slabs, and steel framing.

Beaver had to complete work while maintaining an active work environment for the Owner, therefore multiple phasing and sequencing was necessary to maintain daily operations for the Owner.

Phase 1: Construction of pump house 03/2016 – 06/2016

Phase 2: Additions and renovations to dormitory and commons areas 07/2016 – 08/2017

Phase 3: Renovation of kitchen and dining areas 05/2017 – 08/2017

Phase 4: Renovations to roof and ceiling in the administration and classroom areas 06/2018 – 09/2018
